At iACT, we have great appreciation for the wonderful staff who make our service work possible! In this Staff Spotlight Kristen McMath tells us a little more about herself.

Kristen McMath, iACT Operations Manager

Q: Where are you from?

A: I grew up in Borger, a small town nestled in the Texas panhandle.

Q: How long have you been in Austin?

A: I moved to Austin in 2011, so I’m approaching my thirteenth year in this wonderful city.

Q: What do you do at iACT?

A: I am the Operations Manager. I handle a wide range of tasks, overseeing daily operations and ensuring smooth organization.

Q: What is the most challenging thing about the work you do at iACT?

A: The most challenging aspect of my work pertains to our continuous growth, which presents both opportunities and demands. This necessitates a heightened level of organization, efficiency in task management, and an increased workload to accommodate our expanding operations.

Q: What is the most rewarding thing about the work you do at iACT?

A: The most fulfilling aspect of my role is overseeing and administering our Plus 1 Program in collaboration with the City of Austin. This initiative enables us to assist our clients in managing their utility bills, providing immense relief by alleviating the burden of unmanageable expenses. Being able to ensure our clients have access to essential services and comfort, especially during the unpredictable weather in Austin, is incredibly gratifying.

Q: Why would you encourage others to support the work of iACT?

A: Encouraging support for iACT stems from its unique and impactful contributions to the community. iACT serves as a vital bridge, fostering understanding and connection among diverse individuals. By cultivating a safe and inclusive environment, iACT ensures that everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, feels valued and embraced. Its commitment to building these bridges and nurturing a space of belonging exemplifies the kind of transformative change that positively impacts not just individuals, but entire communities. Supporting iACT means championing unity, empathy, and creating a more compassionate world for all.

Thanks so much for sharing your story with us, Kristen!
