At iACT, we are so grateful for our Board of Directors! In this Board Spotlight, Ajit Giani tells us a little more about himself.

Q: Where are you from?
A: My background is Indian / Pakistani, born in Pakistan and my parents moved to India when I was in my late teens.
How long have you served on the iACT Board?
This is my second year serving on iACT’s board
What made you want to serve as an iACT Board Member?
My faith encourages service to others and also working to create unity amongst all people, recognizing all has being “created noble” and in the image of God. This is what iACT works towards and being a part of this work is fulfilling.
What do you enjoy the most about your role as a Board Member of iACT?
Interacting with people who may have different views, theologies, modes of thought and realizing the tremendous commonalities between us is joyous, and encouraging others to join in this work is tremendously rewarding.
What’s the most challenging thing about working as a Board Member of iACT?
The greatest challenge faced by iACT and its board members is dealing with situations over which we have no control, and interacting with people who have values entrenched in their minds from their younger days that will not change.
What’s the most rewarding thing about being a Board Member of iACT?
Bringing people together who would normally not share the same space, and recognizing that after talking to each other they seem to agree and may even become long-term friends.
Why would you encourage others to support the work of iACT?
Every faith encourages us to do the work iACT is doing and to support iACT is to participate in the work all of us are supposed to do. “Let deeds not words be your adorning”.
