Individuals 70 1/2 and older can make a current gift of up to $100,000 from their IRAs without counting it as taxable income. No charitable deduction is taken, but distributions will qualify for all or part of the IRA owner’s required minimum distributions and is a tax-wise way to support Interfaith Action of Central Texas.
