iACT is looking for mentors for refugee youths newly arrived in Austin. Volunteer mentors must commit to approximately 5 hours a week for the length of the school year, September 2016 to June 2017.
iACT matches two mentors to every high school aged teen and responsibilities include helping the whole family adjust to life and education in the United States.
With graduation rates of refugee children at less than half what they are for Texas students, it is imperative to help them adjust and hopefully graduate from high school.
