For over twenty years, volunteers have donated their time and energy to Hands on Housing to help us complete repairs beyond what our funding allows. We wrote about the amazing teams joining us for 2014’s Raise the Roof housing repair event, a day-long repair event during which volunteers complete repairs ranging from painting, to building ramps, to fixing porch lights. In 2014, we had an estimated 300 volunteers serve their neighbors! Our clients come from diverse walks of life, many struggling with illness and disabilities. We are beyond grateful to not only help these individuals, but to get to know their stories. We would like to share a snapshot of these stories with you in this Meet the Clients series.

James and Gloria have been married for nearly 50 years and are planning a big celebration to renew their vows on their anniversary. They have lived in their current home throughout their life together, raising three children there. Currently, they are retired after years running a BBQ restaurant.
