One of the hardest things to master in life is the ability to always be present in every moment. We live in a world where our time is governed by a to-do list, and undivided attention is a rare reality. So when I discovered that the Red Bench allowed me to stop time for a moment and live in the present, I couldn’t keep myself from coming back for more.

Like a well-needed vacation, the dialogue helps me to retreat from the fast-paced lifestyle I live and to take a moment to share a meaningful conversation with people from all walks of life. The structure of the dialogue helps the conversation to naturally dive deeper, and the final reflection provides a sweet conclusion. However, don’t be surprised if you linger around after the discussion wanting the conversations to continue and looking for the next Red Bench date.
I am also fortunate enough to serve as a host for some of the Red Bench dialogues. What’s wonderful about helping to guide the conversation is the ability to participate alongside everyone so that the dialogue is dynamic and fluid. I personally struggle with not always listening to others, but the Red Bench dialogue allows me to actively listen to the thoughts and feelings of others, while also being able to share my experiences.
For me, Red Bench provides the type of conversation I crave when I get caught in the cycle of school and work, but it always leaves with me a new perspective, new friends, and a new love for life!
