The neighborhood of hope is modeled upon prophetic actions. After all, prophets were the ideal neighbors, as they were divinely inspired in their caring for others. “There is indeed a good model for you in the Messenger of Allah, for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day…” (Quran 33:21). Muhammad (PBUH) said, ‘God advised him to care for his neighbor so much that he thought neighbors would inherit from one another.’ Of course, without prayer, there can be no neighborhood of hope. “Those who recite God’s scripture, keep up the prayer, give secretly and openly from what We [God’s angels] have provided for them, may hope for a trade that will never decline: He [God] will repay them in full, and give them extra from His bounty…” (Quran 35: 29-30).
The stark reality is that sometimes we need such a world-wide crisis to jolt awake the humanity in us; to realize that God wants us to help one another — by giving a helping hand, a show of kindness, or simply a daily word of hope.
From God’s purview, everyone wins —the helped and helper!
Once we move beyond this crisis, let’s continue to bring hope to the world!

We want to hear from you!
