Patrick Bodin
Q: How long have you been in Austin?
43 years
Q: How long have you volunteered with iACT?
Started with Bob Mossman in 1988? 35 years
Q: What made you want to volunteer with iACT?
Our Sunday School Class had a group that helped with AIMM and I have a history of construction helper through high school so I signed up to help.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working with iACT?
I am crafty. I enjoy fixing the little things beyond the scope of the project.
Q: What’s the most challenging thing about working with iACT that you experienced?
Scheduling time to do the work. I work long hours and have little extra time to fit Project related errands into the day.
Q: What’s the most rewarding thing about working with iACT that you experienced?
It is always a joy to see the project get DONE, with all the people (adults and children) that volunteer time and effort to help fix up homes for people who need the help. It always is a miracle to see how much actually gets done.
Q: Why would you encourage others to perform similar volunteer work with iACT?
It is good for the soul to work with a group of volunteers to meet the needs of the community. It is very rewarding to be a part of the solution, I encourage anyone to go ahead and take the time to spend that Saturday out doing the work.
