This is the second of a three part introduction to our clients served during our 2014 Hands on Housing Fall Raise the Roof Housing Repair Event!
Meet…

Mr. Haywood, sadly, passed away on Tuesday, September 9. This was the last picture taken of him with his wife, Mrs. Ruby, together. We were so honored to get to share the photo with Ruby. Two of our staff members were able to attend Haywood’s service and witnessed just how beloved he was by his community. He had been a deacon at his church and worked as an exterminator. Ruby, now in her 70s, is a retired cafeteria worker.

Mrs. Alice, a widow at 74, has lived in her home for nearly 20 years. She loves to spend time with her son, who is pictured about with her. When she isn’t busy with doctors’ appointments, she goes to the Alamo Senior Center five days a week to play dominoes with her friends.

Mrs. Sarah and Mr. William were high school sweethearts. Sarah is currently retired after working over 30 years as a nurse in Austin. They consider themselves lucky to have their three children all living in the Austin area. They try to spend time with their grandchildren as often as they can.
