iACT is looking for mentors for refugee youths newly arrived in Austin. Volunteer mentors must commit to approximately 5 hours a week for the length of the school year, October 2017 to June 2018.

iACT matches two mentors to every high school aged teen and responsibilities include helping the whole family adjust to life and education in the United States. With graduation rates of refugee children at less than half what they are for Texas students, it is imperative to help them adjust and hopefully graduate from high school.

Mentors must be over the age of 18 and must be willing to commit to meeting with their mentee every week for the duration of the school year. This is a great opportunity to make a HUGE difference in the lives of a refugee family!
