As clergy Members of the iACT Board of Directors, we are inviting all Austin clergy leaders to join us for a special “house party” focusing on the issues of affordable housing and the proposed affordable housing bond election this November.
This event is being hosted in collaboration with Keep Austin Affordable – a coalition of business, faith and community leaders calling for investment in affordable housing.
Join us on Tuesday, August 27th at 4:00 p.m. at the iACT office. We are located on the second floor in the PeopleFund building at 2921 E 17th Street, immediately adjacent to the MLK Jr. MetroRail station.
We believe the question of affordable housing is one of the most pressing social and moral issues confronting our community. Please join us and representatives from Keep Austin Affordable for an informative and fun gathering. Light refreshments will be served and there will be time for networking and fellowship.
iACT has a long history of involvement in the issue of affordable housing through our service program, Hands on Housing. To date we have repaired over 1400 homes belonging to impoverished senior citizens and disabled individuals in East Austin.
Thank you for all that you do to make Austin a better place! We look forward to seeing you on the 27th.
Gratefully yours,
Rabbi Neil Blumofe, Congregation Agudas Achim
Father Larry Covington, St. Louis Catholic Parish
Rev. Freddie Dixon, University of Texas Division of Diversity and Community Engagement
Rev. Bobbi Kaye Jones, Tarrytown UNITED Methodist Church
