“There are as many worlds as there are kinds of days, and as an opal changes its colors and its fire to match the nature of a day, so do I.”
– John Steinbeck
After thoughtful consideration, I have decided to embark on a new chapter, to pursue my calling as a nurse.
My journey from Cuba to the US fueled my passion for learning from diverse cultures and connecting with people worldwide. Having worked with a temporary staffing agency, I have been fortunate to travel all over for work, getting to serve and work alongside people of many different backgrounds, which brought me to iACT. While always aspiring to make a difference in health, my true inspiration lies in social service — to be there for others, whether as a social worker or a health professional. With a solid support system, I now feel equipped to follow my calling in health services, with a hope to integrate both social work and nursing in my future endeavors. My calling is to help and support people on their journey to well-being.
I am excited to move to Puerto Rico for my clinical rotations, and hope to return to Texas upon completing nursing school. My hope is that I will be an example to anyone who hesitates to take a leap to pursue their calling. It is never too late to answer the call.
