As Volunteer Coordinator for iACT, I must admit that the most rewarding and satisfying experience is to witness our clients receive life-changing services. Particularly with our Handy Helper program, perhaps this experience is more heightening as I personally witness low-income homeowners maintain the beauty of their homes that they love and cherish. A Handy Helper completes MINOR home repairs in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical. Often, our clients are not only low-income, but are also elderly and disabled and are unable to fix the repairs themselves or hire a professional. For such clients, a skilled and experienced Handy Helper is dispatched to complete the repair at no cost to the homeowner. Our Handy Helpers are not only skillful, but they are hardworking men and women with strong dedication to helping those in need. Currently, Hands on Housing is searching for more Handy Helpers to help homeowners with minor home repairs. If you are handy and want to make a difference in the life of a low-income homeowner, please fill out our Handy Helper Registration and Skills Assessment Form. We look forward to you becoming a part of the team!
With Gratitude,
