Q: Where are you from? How long have you been in Austin?
A: Born in Buffalo, New York, but moved here from Portland, Oregon. Been in Austin for 24 years.
How Long have you worked at iACT?
Since July of 2019
What do you enjoy the most about the work you do at iACT?
I love events. I receive great joy when I put all the details together to create an amazing backdrop that shares stories, celebrates the good work of iACT and raises money for its longevity. And the team that works for iACT are incredible human beings. They’re amazing!
What do you do at iACT?
Special Events Consultant for A Night Under One Sky and the Hope Awards.
What’s the most challenging thing about the work you do at iACT?
Seeing the challenges that people still have to face because they are different.
What’s the most rewarding thing about working with iACT that you have experienced?
The people and their stories. We all have a story. And the more stories I hear, the more I realize we are much more alike than we are different and we have a responsibility to help each other. I see compassion all the time at iACT. It keeps me inspired, hopeful and encouraged.
Why would you encourage others to support the work of iACT?
iACT provides a vital service needed in our community with dignity and love. Whether you are touched as a recipient, staff, donor, volunteer, or vendor – you’re a better person for your experience with iACT.
