We had so many amazing teams participate in Hands on Housing’s 2014 Fall Repair Event. In this post, we introduce you to our pre-registered veteran teams!
Bethany United Methodist Church: Bethany UMC has participated in Hands on Housing volunteer events practically since the inception of the program in the 1980’s. We are beyond grateful that they return each season to share their expertise and mentor new groups joining the event. Bethany team members love to take on carpentry challenges, and this year will be helping our client Ms. Alice.
Downtown Unity: Downtown Unity joins us for their fifth event. This team is always eager to learn and take on unique assignments. This year, they will be working on a home of five clients with a collective age of over 400!
Oak Hill United Methodist Church: Although Oak Hill’s first event was in the spring, it feels as if they have been on our team for decades. You may remember them from our Handy Helper story, as they take on repair projects throughout the year. They will be organizing their own mini event the weekend before Raise the Roof due to a conflict, and will be helping our client Ms. Dorothy.
Church of Latter Day Saints-Hill Country Ward: Last, but certainly not least, of our returning teams- LDS has participated in Hands on Housing events for two years. This year, they will be leading three other teams in completing repairs on our largest house, belonging to James and Gloria-retired owners of an Austin barbecue restaurant.
